- REVITALISING UIGSHADER WOODLAND -
The Uigshader Living Forest Project is the vision of several like-minded people committed to transforming a former commercial tree plantation on the Isle of Skye into a flourishing native woodland. The goal is to establish a vibrant ecosystem which will serve the needs of both the environment and the local community.
Our project has three main themes

Developing a sustainable method of management for the land
— Ecology —
Creating a diverse woodland
Replanting 30,000 native trees
Restoring over 30 hectares of peat bog
Encouraging natural regeneration and biodiversity

Improve the accessibility of the woodland
Create physical pathways
Host events and offer volunteer activities
- We have launched a New Crowdfunding campaign.
Out track badly needs renovated. Improving access will greatly aid the day to day maintenance and management of the woodland, help facilitate our volunteer days, and also provide a nice walking path for visitors to enjoy.
